what's new

Now entering our SEVENTH year!

We are grateful for the incredible support we have received since our inception in December of 2013 from our unwavering Board of Directors, our generous donors, and the hundreds of individuals who attend our seminars & events each year.  We strive to bring you entertaining, enriching & affordable learning opportunities; support our artists living well with mental health issues by sharing and selling their art; and employ individuals living well with mental health conditions.  We update our website regularly and now offer thousands of Continuing Education credits for mental health professionals annually.  Please visit often and spread the word!  Mental health is everyone’s business!

The Frank Ridge Memorial Foundation, Inc. is proud to be recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board’s Office of the Professions as an approved provider of Continuing Education credits (CEs) for NY licensed social workers (#SW-0096), mental health counselors (#MHC-0010), marriage & family therapists (#MFT-0014), psychoanalysts (#P-0018) and creative arts therapists (#CAT-0065).  For more information about Continuing Education credits go to the New York State Office of the Profession’s website at: www.op.nysed.gov/prof/.  Click on your profession and their Continuing Education tab for more information.

Thanks to all of you, 2019 was a very fine year:

  • In 2019 we presented 40 learning seminars to over 600 mental health professionals and community members, awarding thousands of NY State Education approved Continuing Education credits.

  • Our classrooms began filling to capacity in July of 2019 – this is the first time in our six year history that our classes have consistently sold out!

  • While all of our running costs have increased, we have kept our promise to hard-working mental health professionals not to raise the prices of our seminars, nor compromise the quality of our work.

  • I continue to devour new movies every year in search of the precious few that will inspire new subjects.  In 2019, I viewed over 300 short films and features.

  • In 2019 we presented a number of new subjects including:  MENTAL HEALTH & THE (IN)JUSTICE SYSTEM, WOMEN’S RIGHTS & MENTAL HEALTH, and WHO WE ARE & WHO WE LOVE: about sexuality, gender identity and mental health.

  • In 2020, we will be creating more new seminars and reprising old favorites.

  • We presented BIPOLAR & THE ENGLISH CHANNEL to a room filled with mental health professionals and community members in the Fall.  We hope to deliver this one-person performance many more times in 2020.

  • For the FOURTH straight year in a row, thanks to grants, donations, and tuitions – we hit break even.
