  • 311 for referrals and help when 911 is not appropriate.
  • 1 800 LIFENET is an excellent national referral line.  They are not a hotline or suicide crisis line.
  • Poison Control: in New York 212 POISONS or 800 222-1222.  When you cannot reach your doctor or pharmacist, this is an excellent 24 hour referral source, manned by nurses and pharmacists, to help with information regarding poison, as well as any questions you may have about drug interactions.
