Get lost in the magic of movies, illuminate your understanding of mental health concerns, and earn NY State Education Department (SED) approved live-in-person CEs!  Now celebrating our sixth year, our specialty is finding accurate, compassionate and entertaining films that responsibly depict a myriad of mental health conditions.  Learning is enhanced with lively conversation and resource-rich take-home materials.  Healthy refreshments & popcorn are served.  Our seminars are conveniently located in mid-town Manhattan. We provide a FUN, intimate, interactive atmosphere conducive to higher learning.  Seating is limited. Registration is required for all seminars.

BIPOLAR & THE ENGLISH CHANNEL.  3.5 live-in-person NY SED approved CEsBipolar & the English Channel was presented in December 2018 at an Off Broadway venue for community members, families and mental health professionals. Back by popular demand. Hear Julie Ridge tell her personal, unlikely story of how a mile-a-day-pool-lapper became an English Channel swimmer in nine short months, and how living with bipolar disorder has paralleled the zig-zag journey across the grey murky Channel seas.  There is no film.  This is a two act presentation, with in depth questions and answers afterward.

CONNECTING DOTS: it’s a family affair series.  14 live-in-person NY SED approved CEs.  Four seminars, four consecutive Saturdays, four movies focusing on various family constellations, with at least one family member with a mental health condition.  Discussion of children who fall far from the tree, single parenting, non-traditional families and growing up with a mentally ill parent.  All four seminars must be taken for series credit.  A completely NEW CONNECTING DOTS series and the last series in 2019.

WELCOME TO DSM-5!  3.5 live in person NY SED approved CEs.  This seminar will facilitate understanding and implementation of the essential changes that went into effect with the publication of DSM-5.  There is no movie.  It is not a course on all of the DSM diagnoses. Those are covered in other seminars.  Seating is extremely limited.

*NY LMSWs, LCSWs, LMHCs, LMFTs, LPs and LCATs must receive 36 Continuing Education credits (CEs) every 3 years to renew their license.  24 of those CEs must be live-in-person. For more information about Continuing Education credits go to the New York State Office of the Profession’s website at:  www.op.nysed.gov/prof   Select your profession, then click on Continuing Education on the left for requirements and listing of approved agencies.   There is no State restriction as to how many of your 36 credits you can earn from a single provider or within a single calendar year.
